About the event

The 2026 edition focused on translating research into health policy, products and services. KEMRI’s retrospective confirms that the meeting took place and reports more than 1,300 registrations, with researchers at different career stages meeting clinicians, innovators and policy leaders.

The scientific scope crossed infectious diseases, noncommunicable disease, One Health and environmental health. Presentations, symposia, plenaries and electronic posters linked laboratory and population research with practical health-system challenges. A preconference component examined vaccine research, development and manufacturing capacity in Kenya.
